I reported this story from a press conference at the United Nations. I asked Sheryl Sandberg how Facebook will continue its counter-terrorism work as it moves toward encryption. It is an example of my writing about complicated topics relating to technology for a general audience. I wrote this story to fit the style and voice of Bloomberg News.

 I co-authored this feature, which ran in the print edition of Businessweek. Specifically, I reported on the company’s use of online eye exams and the debate about such technology among optometrists and regulators. This is article is the result of collaboration and communication with Businessweek staff writer Austin Carr over weeks of reporting.

“Uber Granted New London License by U.K. Court”

I reported from a London courthouse as Uber fought to renew its license, then co-wrote this story with Sam Schechner, who was in Paris. It ran on the front page of business section. This sample further demonstrates my ability to write about tech for a general audience, and to collaborate well with colleagues. This also demonstrates my ability to adapt my writing to different styles and tones, in this case the institutional voice of The Wall Street Journal

I pitched, reported and wrote this story about the launch of Caroline Spiegel’s company Quinn. This is an example of content I took initiative to pitch which organically widen Bloomberg’s coverage area and audience. This story performed well online and was followed by major competitors, including The New York Times.
